Gabriel surrendered just four hits while striking out six and walking just one in the biggest game of the season. He needed just 98 pitches to go the distance. Gabriel finishes the season 7 postseason with a 4-1 record and a 2.94 ERA.
Offensively for Arizona, a 2-run homerun from CF Dee James in the bottom of the fourth inning provided all of the offense that was needed.
Chin Music starter Chuck Griffin suffered the Game 7 loss for Austin.
The Game 7 victory completes the comeback for Arizona, which began the series in a 2-0 hole after consecutive home losses to Austin. The win also marks the first time in the entire series in which the home team won the game. The championship is the third overall title for Arizona in seven seasons.
